Food Allergies Q & A

What is a food allergy?

A food allergy is an overreaction of your immune system to a food, or a substance in a food, that it considers harmful, even though it’s not for most people. Food allergies are very common. You can develop an allergy to any food, but the most common food allergens include:

  • Milk
  • Soy
  • Seafood and shellfish
  • Peanuts and tree nuts
  • Wheat
  • Eggs

You are often allergic to more than one food.

The symptoms of a food allergy vary and include abdominal pain, skin rashes, and itchy throat.

What is the treatment for a food allergy?

Dr. Stalker uses advanced allergy therapeutics (AAT) as a treatment for allergy symptoms. AAT doesn’t diagnose or cure your food allergy but helps provide you with some relief from your symptoms.

While your food allergy is an immune system response, the symptoms it creates usually indicate stress or weakness of the body system affected. AAT addresses the affected body system to restore health and balance to that body system and reduce your symptoms.

What can I expect during AAT?

AAT is a gentle and painless treatment that takes no more than 30 minutes of your time. During treatment, Dr. Stalker uses gentle pressure on various parts of your body that correspond with your allergy symptoms. The stress and stimulation placed on your skin alleviate the stress on your affected organ system for symptom relief.

Dr. Stalker treats up to four allergens at a time during one session. While you may notice an improvement in your symptoms after your first session, Dr. Stalker recommends a series of 5-12 treatments to get the best results.

You’re advised to stay away from your allergens for up to 24 hours following AAT.

What food allergy symptoms benefit from AAT?

Dr. Stalker uses AAT to relieve many common food allergy symptoms. You may benefit from treatment if you suffer from:

  • Skin rashes
  • Itchy or scratchy throat
  • Indigestion or heartburn
  • Bloating or cramping
  • Shortness of breath
  • Gas or diarrhea

AAT doesn’t treat anaphylaxis, which is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical attention.
